High School Homeschooling Tip of the Day (Oct 27th)

Bible

Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33

Put first things first. That is the tip for today. This morning I have been rushing around, running late, because I made poor choices last night with my time. I did not put first things first. That means that today I will feel rushed, unprepared, and will likely – if I don’t remain in prayer  throughout the day – overreact or speak without thinking or do something else that will likely be misjudged.

Homeschooling mornings that are rushed and unfocused also result in yelling, overreacting, and saying things that we regret and are harmful to our relationships with our children. Putting God first by seeking Him in prayer and the Bible (His word) enables us to keep things in perspective, which gives us a peace and hope that does not depend on us.

You may think that our faith is separated from our other activities, but I say that our faith is integrated in our very being and influences everything we do. If we are well grounded in God and His word, the result will be a life of balance and wisdom – this is the best way to homeschool and the most rewarding way to live.

I pray for you this morning as I pray for myself rushing out the door. God speed.

Nicole
