High School Homeschooling Tip of the Day (Oct 18th)

pray

Pray! We think that if we follow guidelines, advice of other homeschooling mothers, get the best curriculum, challenge our children, etc. that we are guaranteed success in this journey of educating them. There are no guarantees. There are obstacles all along the way that reveal to us our own inadequacy in getting the job done. I know that although I wouldn’t have admitted it, I used to put the education of my children above their character development and their relationship with Christ. Well I was wrong. I have come to realize that God is sovereign over all things – and that includes my children (His children). I if I desire the best for them, which includes a wonderful and sufficient education, I must pray to God to intervene on their behalf.

Praying for our children might sound insufficient or ineffective, but don’t be fooled, there is power in our prayers, because there is power in our God.

So, my tip for today is the most crucial tip for successful homeschooling and parenting our high school students, pray for them. And while you are at it, pray for yourself too. We need His help!

Psalm 44:8 In God we make our boast all day long, and we will praise Your name forever.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are safe.

I Peter 5:7 Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in all things by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God; and the peace of God which transcends all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God Speed! Nicole
